The 2026 China Taklimakan Rally has concluded. On this top Asian off-road endurance event — known as the "Dakar of the East" — the Dongfeng M-Hero team fielded four M817 off-road vehicles. Benchmarked against Dakar standards, this year's rally covered 7,500 km, including nearly 3,400 km of special stages — 60% of them through desert — making it the most demanding edition to date. In the highly competitive T2.E production new energy class, all four M-Hero M817s maintained excellent condition. Car No. 273 won the T2 production class SS4 stage, while Car No. 271 took second place in the T2.E class SS8 and won the T2 production class SS10 stage.
